Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.
Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard.
Having debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard.
Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard.
Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard.
It seems like more things are hard today or at least we’ve added on. We have spent a lot of time indoors, away from family and friends. We have been working from home. Kids have been trying to learn online. It’s been hard.
It’s easy to get caught up in the everyday challenges going day to day stressing about our “new normal”. It’s been hard to reflect about the good things that are still happening around us. Thinking back to Spring, who would have thought a series about a Tiger King would bring us all together for a month. I have noticed a few other positive things over the last six months of quarantine. With more time at home, pet adoption increased drastically. People shifted focus from athletes, with no sports to watch onto healthcare workers and recognizing them as the hero’s they are. Major companies changed production lines to help produce necessary protective equipment for health care facilities. There is still a lot of good out there, although it may be harder to find. It’s worth the hard.
I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes. Some people brighten a room when they enter it; others when the leave. Attitudes are contagious. Is yours worth catching?
